I have lived in Silicon Valley for the last 15 years; I seem to be getting spring allergies for the first time this year. I amhaving headaches. What precautions can I take? Is there medication for this?

   You can take something like loratadine to control the symptoms. But to really control the allergy, you have to control your exposure. This means staying inside as much as possible. If you must be outside , then as soon as you come in take a shower, wash your hair, and change your clothes. Keep doors and windows closed. Keep pets inside, because they carry all that pollen back in with them on their fur just like we carry it on our clothes and hair.
   If you don’t like the idea of keeping the place closed up, then look at these special screens you can get to keep pollen out.
