Pollen Allergies? Is there a Doctor in the house?

Enigma asked:

Is it possible to run a low grade fever along with allergic rhinitis.
My temp has been spiking to about 99.2 in the evenings.
I really feel like its allergies because my throat itches and swelled, sneezing, eyes water, runny nose. I’ve been allergic to pollen for about 5 yrs now. Every year at this time it’s the same symptoms.
I know everytime I have this mess I have some fever and chills with it. Everytime I have described this to a doctor they just nod and say Rhinitis but everybody else claims you don’t get a fever…I wonder why?
If my sinuses are clogged and hot would explain why my face always feels hot when I have this.

Allergies does not cause a fever. However your temperature is not a fever. A fever is 100.4 F (38 C) or higher. It is normal for body temperature to fluctuate throughout the day.

Your symptoms are definitely allergies. Get medical care emergently if your throat is truly swollen.

99.2 is normal especially in late afternoon evenings. 98.6 is always quoted because children/adults run this at mid morning.
My son has always had Allergic Rhinitis, and develops new allergies wherever he has been. (western, Southwestern, Northeast, Mid atlantic). The fact that it always happens the same time same time of year indicates ragweed/hayfever
Yes when your sinuses are filled with the pollen , your body will run a fever to combat it. Most ppl with allergies will never notice this, but your doctor will if they are clued into your allergies. As bad as ppl need to know that allergies will not cause fever is a huge nasty rumor. Allegories do cause fever.. especially in the sinusues. The sinuses gets clogged. this causes the nodes to get inflamed. That causes the fever.
I’m sick to death of the fact of well known ppl go online and say that allergies do not cause fever, of course they do.
Even the weather channel chick is wrong. Allergies can and will produce fever even when it’s lowgrade.
