Unfortunately, seasonal allergies cannot be treated by foods or vitamins since an allergic response is a normal part of the immune system for people with allergies. There are five options to deal with the allergies: (1) shut down the immune system with a steroid such as prednisone or cortisone; (2) stop the histamine reaction with an antihistamine; (3) decrease your body’s sensitivity to the allergens by taking allergy shots; (4) relieve stuffiness with a decongestant; or (5) control your exposure to the allergen.
The FAILSAFE diet (see sources below) can be a hayfever sufferer’s saviour (it was mine). Try it out…
Ensuring that your vitamin intake is adequate DOES make a difference. I found that my allergies were a lot worse when I neglected to take my multivitamin.
A homoeopathic allergy mixture (from any health food store) can be effective in the short term. For a more long term solution, see a professional homoeopath. They CAN treat allergies, and stop them from recurring.
You can actually worsen your symptoms with food, because there are lots of crossreacting foods with pollens. This means that you can get allergic reactions with these foods during pollen season, sometimes even year around. If you notice this kind of symptoms you should eliminate crossreactive foods for the pollen season.
you should repair your immune system….it is not functioning properly…100% natural enzyme thereapy is the best in the market for whatever disease…it would supplement the enzyme that is lacking in your immune system to make it self sustaining…it already cured plenty of cancer, diabetic, lupus, kidney and heart problems and many other ailment including hiv…and simple problems as skin disorder…oversweating…sleeping disorders…variety of allergies etc…if you are interested you may email me I may be of help…thanks
Sounds like you mean without allergy meds? If that is what you are referring to, then you can try some or all of these trickes; rinse your eyes several times a day with clear, clean water…pollen and other allergens can stick to the base of your eyelashes and inside your eyes and cause irritation. If you can stand it, try to rinse out the inside of your nose with clean water also…they make things for this purpose but the name of it escapes me….the pharmacist would know what it is called. Drink lots of water. Wash your hands often and avoid touching your face, eyes, nose, etc. because you can transfer the allergens into your mucuous membranes and cause irritation. I don’t know that taking vitamins has been proven to help, but it can’t really hurt unless you are megadosing. One big help….meditation and relaxation…stress is a big contributor and if you can try to put yourself in a relaxed state of mind (easier said than done when you feel miserable) it can help. My allergies were so bad about 20 years ago, and none of the meds worked…a doctor that worked in the same office as me taught me how to use “self-hypnosis” and it was more effective than any other treatment (short of prednisone, which is a last resort…lots of bad side affects).
